Deyi Military Band did it(: The 141 members, all their sweat and hard work did paid off. Yes, DMB walked away with Gold with Honors, Best Display Band and Best Drum Major in the SYF 20101!!! My heartiest congratulations to all band members out there(:

Many of you may not know, but most of my friends, those closer friends of mine are all from DMB. Majority of my classmates are in band, most of my better acquaintances are in band, even most of my teachers are band teachers. My BFF, Jia Ying is a band member too. DMB is something I knew quite well. And I have really seen the efforts they placed in, the sweat the perspired, the pains and hardships they endured, the time they sacrificed, the times they failed and picked themselves up only to climb higher again. Not many of us would have the stamina they have, the determination they have to endure all the intensive trainings, the will to never give up. Which most of us are enjoying our holidays, especially in March, they were in their training camp, training very hard. Their Saturdays were spend practicing for perfection, the whole day from dawn till evening. They spend hours under the hot sun, even in the rain too. Some were sick, but still attended every band session. I have classmates who sleeps in lesson, comes to school late, as band is draining them up. They can give up opportunities to learn a new Science topic, a few new English vocabulary, but in band practices, they give their all. They sleep in classes, so they would have the energy for band later on. They can skip school, but never will they skip a band session. If you think their winning is not worth it, think again. Can you be like them? I know I might not, so I choose to respect them and support them(: You have no right to insult them, when you cannot even do a fraction of what they did.

But it's actually is quite sad, looking at the TK band members cry. Their teachers were crying along with them too. I witnessed it as I was on my way to look for the band members after the SYF. Most of the deyians walked towards the wrong exit, we were all blindly following Mr Lee. We happened to be at the exit of Bowen band initially. They were all very happy, wide smiles on their faces. Then a ex-member of DMB exited from that exit, and he told us DMB was at the other exit. So we followed his directions and ran to look for them. Ended up, TK band was exiting then. They were all really crying their hearts out. You will feel sad for them too if you see it. We all waited so long that we almost wanted to give up, we thought they were not exiting there. Then Yern Ee and Min Ling saw them exiting slowly. So cheered for them, congrated them, hugged them and took pics with most of them(: But it's very hard to fnd them, they were all busy packing up and it's really very dark. Outside the indoor stadium, there's not much light..

Me and Yern Ee wanted to take the transport back with the school band, to take more pics with them and we were lazy to go back all the way from Kallang too. Ms Chew refused to let us take the helper's transport. I cannot contact Mr Loh to ask him. But in the end Ming Yong helped us ask Ms Foo, and she allowed(: Thank you so much!!! So Ming Yong, Yern Ee and me took the percussion's bus back with all the percussionists. Thanks to Ting Hao too(: The band members were all so tired but happy, even humming the songs on the journey back. 

Reached school, waited for them to return their stuffs in the band room. Listened to their debrief and took more pics with them. Cheng Yi keep pulling me to take pics with him, in the end I lend him my phone to distract him. But majority were so worn out by then, it was close to ten and they started their day at seven in the morning. Aftermath, bought bubble tea with Ming Yong while Yern Ee went home. Then me and Ming Yong went back Bishan too. I was so tired by then, being a student supporter is not easy too:X
